Obsidian
Notebook Navigator 3
The complete guide to Notebook Navigator 3 - the plugin that gives Obsidian the clean, fast feel of a real notes app. In 14 chapters we go from installation to a fully customised vault: search, writing projects, daily notes and calendar, folder notes, vault profiles, and more.
Sebastian talks us through how to make use of the Obsidian CLI.
The Obsidian team shipped an official CLI, and it’s AWESOME. I’ve been using it for a while (with and without AI), and wanted to write a piece about it.
In this new article, I go deep on it: what the Obsidian CLI actually is (and why it’s NOT the old third-party obsidian-cli), how to enable it on macOS, Windows, and Linux, every command family, the interactive TUI, eval and the JavaScript API, and the different ways to reach your vault from the terminal.
I also cover how AI agents drive a vault through the CLI. My own agents create notes, update metadata, run commands, even build and debug Obsidian plugins, all through the CLI, hands off the mouse. And I show how to take it remote with REST and MCP.
The CLI is NOT headless. It needs Obsidian running. I explain why that matters, and what I do about it.

A new way to look at tasks?

A couple of new updates this week.
Paragraph nodes now use a gentler align-left glyph in place of the pilcrow, with a softer, less invasive color. Same spot, same zoom and drag.
Week calendar strip on daily notes: when zoomed on a day, a subheader strip shows the day’s ISO week for one-click day-to-day navigation, with chevron paging and a content dot on days you’ve written in.
Vellum
Vellum is coming along nicely, and I can confirm that there is a closed alpha/beta test ongoing. The app already feels very well polished and smooth that I am sure that in no time, it will be released to the wider group.

Octarine
v0.48.0 out now!
A refreshed app Octarine’s entire UI has been redesigned across tabs, breadcrumbs, sidebars, Inbox, Calendar, and the editor. The result is a calmer, more consistent frame that keeps navigation and note actions close at hand.
Sidebar destinations can now be reordered or hidden, with a choice of count or dot badges.
Back and forward navigation now follows the focused split pane.
Properties and Tags sidebars have been merged into one with two tabs.
Pinned notes/folders are now part of the tree rather than a popover.
In tree searches are now hidden by default.z
Empty new tab experience improved.
GitSync icon in breadcrumb removed, will only show when there’s an error or when
syncingis underway.
Craft
Craft Update - Tags, Quality of Life improvements, Summer Survey
We are introducing a number of improvements for Tags, most importantly batch rename and delete options so you can manage your Tags much easily from now on.
Alongside that, tasks gained more flexible date search and handy new “Open In” and “Move to” menus, tables got quick actions for selected cells, and we polished countless details throughout the app.
We are launching our annual Summer Survey where you can share with us your feedback and help shape the next steps for Craft!
Heptabase
New Update:
Today, we’re excited to release several major upgrades to the Heptabase AI Agent.
The AI Agent now has everything it needs to organize your knowledge base. It can now edit whiteboards, cards, tag databases, and more.
We’ve introduced new skills to help the AI Agent organize your knowledge base. Whether you’re just getting started with Heptabase or already have an existing knowledge base, the AI Agent can help you build a well-structured knowledge base from scratch or improve and maintain the one you already have.
We’ve added an Instruction Card for the AI Agent. You can customize it to teach the AI how you want your knowledge base to be organized and managed.
With these new capabilities, your workflow becomes much simpler. Just talk with the AI Agent about the questions you care about or the materials you want to understand—whether they’re web pages, YouTube videos, or PDFs.
Remnote
RemNote 1.27 brings an upgraded Exam Scheduler, friendlier streaks and goals, a fresh Flashcard Home, and major reliability improvements.
Cluing
This is from my friends at Collabwriting who recently pivoted into something new. Cluing.
The idea is to centralise everything that actually matters to you in one place: bookmarks, highlights, newsletters, conference notes, PDFs, but also things like social media posts, snapshots from YouTube videos, or quick ideas you jot down in real-time.
Instead of those things just sitting there, they get organically intertwined. You can add comments, hashtags, and reactions to every snippet, so your library actually reflects your own thought process.
