PKM Weekly - 2025-03-16
A look at the latest Personal Knowledge Management PKM news from the past week.
Hi Everyone,
The F1 is back, as is another episode of PKM Weekly. Let’s see what is in store for us today.
LOGSEQ
Updated Desktop App Nearly There?
Tienson shared a few thoughts on Discord:
I can provide some more details here, there're a few todos we want to be done before cutting a desktop release for the db version:
Performance improvements, especially for app start time and large tables, this should be done in a few days.
Markdown and EDN export support, this should be done in weeks.
Test to ensure we don't introduce regression bugs for file graphs before merging the db branch to the master branch, I don't have an estimated date for this one.
Changelog from: 2025-03-02 to: 2025-03-15
We can now perform bulk actions on node such as set/unset:
Tags
Properties
Copy
Delete
Next, Template is back! We can set a template:
Adhoc to any Page
Automatically, by assigning the template to a Tag, like journal

Thank you so much for posting Danzu!
Quick Capture App for Logseq
OP posted: No matter what we do we end up using more than two note taking apps - one for quick jots and other for long form writing or deep work.
But capturing notes has become frustrating because app like Logseq is slow and capturing simple note between those apps are quite different. It occurred to me what if there is one unified way to capture ideas, thoughts and notes to your PKM apps. To solve this I built a tiny lil app called SupaSend that let you capture notes with attachments from one place.
Check it out here.
Supasend is an app for note taking apps. With Supasend, you can:
Create new note
Create or append entries in Daily Journal
Append notes in any specific document
Logseq and Claude
Brian hooked up logseq to anthropic Claude. You can chat with, search, create, and edit Logseq notes in the Claude desktop app.
It works by connecting to the local Logseq api using an MCP server bridge. (Work in progress).

CAPACITIES
Recreating Steffen's Daily Note Template
Re-create Steffen (co-founder) daily note template with this video!
Lag / Performance
Question in reddit: Been watching Capacities closely and ready to make the shift. Object based/block based editor, feels much more flexible. Coming from Reflect notes- fantastic app, but feeling like its just too minimal for my needs. One thing I appreciate about Reflect is the focus on performance. It really feels like a native app at this point, speed/reliability, etc.
Those who have been with Capacities for a while and have grown a larger database, how is speed still? Loading, search etc? Any issues
For those that are experiencing some lag and performance issues like the above, I understand (from Discord) that the team is working on huge performance updates and will be testing these out shortly. Hopefully it will improve the all round performance and should make working with large documents a lot better.
TANA
Release Node 2025 / wk 10-11 / v.402-403
Tana released various imporvements and fixed:
Updated command line: Added option to specify workspace in "Open Calendar for Today in <Workspace>"
New command line: "Show today for this workspace" to quickly go to the Today node of workspace you are in. That workspace needs to have a 'Daily notes' calendar node already.
Compact/Full menu for commands now available on Configure node
Icon meta field now available in Configure node
Fixed issue where turning many nodes into checkboxes at once would not show the progress bar
Fixed issue where historical dates before the year 1890 displayed as one year off
and much more (Changelog)
Unlock the Power of Recurring Tasks in Tana Without the Buttons
Managing recurring tasks can feel like trying to juggle flaming torches while riding a unicycle. It’s tricky, and one wrong move can throw everything off balance. But what if I told you there’s a way to simplify this process in Tana without relying on the a button-based setup? That’s right—no buttons, no problem.

OBSIDIAN
Introduce Obsidian at work
OP asked: At work we have a lengthy software approval process and it's hella annoying. On monday I have a meeting with IT to convince them to install Obsidian Enterprise for our team of ~16 people.
I have a little bit, although not much, experience with Obsidian but I still don't know what the Enterprise version does.
Will it be useful to use Obsidian in a team?
Is conflict management (when two people work on the same file) good enough?
Will we be able to run the Vault locally from a network drive or do we have to use the cloud?
Is the cloud 100% safe? How the hell will I convince IT that it's safe to store all of our process data in the cloud?
Check out the post and responses here.
